A concrete foundation is one of the few parts of a construction project that becomes permanent the moment it's poured. We build foundations that hold up and we spell out exactly what's going in the ground before the trucks arrive.

What we build

Our common foundation specs

3000 PSI concrete

Our standard mix for most residential and light commercial slabs. Upgraded to 3500 or 4000 PSI when loads, durability, or engineered specs call for it.

24" exterior footings (typical)

Standard perimeter footing dimension for many of our foundations. Exact width and depth depend on the building, soil, and engineering. We spell the dimensions out on the bid.

Reinforcement specified in writing

Rebar size and spacing, or welded wire mesh with placement method. Chaired or supported properly so it ends up where it belongs in the slab.

6 mil or 10 mil vapor barrier where needed

Under-slab moisture control for enclosed buildings and finished spaces. ASTM E1745 compliant products, sealed seams, penetrations addressed.

Hard-trowel or broom finish

Interior shop floors get a smooth hard-trowel finish. Exterior or slip-critical surfaces get broom finish. Matched to the use.

Compacted base in lifts

Base material placed and compacted in appropriate lifts, not dumped and smoothed. If your site has unsuitable soil, we address it before the pour.

Why our foundations hold up

A foundation is a system. The concrete mix matters, but so does everything else:

What your bid will include

Every bid we write specifies

  • Slab dimensions and thickness
  • Concrete PSI and mix
  • Reinforcement type, size, and spacing
  • Footing width and depth
  • Vapor barrier product and thickness (if applicable)
  • Base prep and compaction scope
  • Finish type
  • Control joint plan
  • What's excluded and what could cause a change order
